Detroit Institute of Arts Coming Soon!

Exciting News! The Detroit Institue of Arts (DIA) is bringing the Inside/Out Program to Woodhaven in 2013!

Today at a press conference, the DIA announced that Woodhaven would be one of the participating cities for this year's popular Inside/Out program which brings high quality reproductions of masterpieces from the DIA's collection to the streets and parks of the Metro Detroit area.

Thirteen communities were chosen for the summer month's of July, August & September, 2013. Each community will have between 5 to 12 images clustered within walking distance. Kathy D'Angelo, our Director of Parks and Recreation, will be meeting with the DIA on March 5th to discuss details of the program and location of the masterpieces within our community.

The DIA has added six new reproductions, including several examples of modern art, to the 80 already in use. The Inside/Out program is funded by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation.

The City is extremely honored to have been chosen to participate in this exciting program and to be working with the Detroit Institute of Arts!
