Award Ceremony 
On December 6, 2018 the Woodhaven Police Department held its 2nd Annual Awards Ceremony.
Officers were recommended for recognition by their supervisors for exemplary performance throughout the year.
Letters of Merit were issued to Lt. Gary McSweeney, Lt. Dennis Deweese, Sgt. Ed Carrier, Detective Mark Szymankiewicz, Ofc. Jon Sivi and Ofc. Ryan Zimmers for working collectively to assist another agency and providing outstanding service.
Officer Ryan Behrik received a letter of Merit and Officer Gabe Vickey was awarded a Department Commendation for de-escalating a suicidal subject armed with a handgun.
Officer Dean Vann & K9 Partner Bruno were named Patrol Officers of the Year for 2018.
Detective Sergeant Jeff Brust received the Command Officer of the Year award for 2018.
