Unity Tour

The Police Unity Tour is a charitable event that raises funds through donations to support the families of fallen officers. Police Officers ride bicycles a distance over 300 miles in four days every May culminating at the Police Officers Memorial Wall in Washington D.C. during Police Week.  Lt. Jeff Brust has participated in this event for the last eight years, riding in memory of fallen Taylor Police Corporal Matt Edwards.

Shop with a Hero-
The Shop With a Hero Event is held at the Woodhaven Meijer store.

Guests are treated to pizza, cookies and candy followed by a shopping spree.  This year Local Heroes escorted over sixty children in need as they selected clothing and toys of their choice. Volunteers participated from the Woodhaven Police and Fire Departments, Gibraltar Police Department, Woodhaven Police Reserves and Explorers and other city employees.

The event is funded through efforts of the Woodhaven Police Charities, including proceeds from the annual Monster Mash 5k Run.  The event would not be possible without the partnership with Meijer, and generous donations of local businesses. This was the seventh year the event has been hosted and was the largest ever.
